On september 11 2001 a terrible thing happened. There were two airplanes that crashed into the twin towers in grand zero. bush reminded everyone about the crusades. Which the crusdaes were the holy war was. The christians and the muslims were fighting for palestine. This worried people because it brang memories to the christians and the muslims.This is a bady idea because todays war is against terrorisim and back then the war was for palestine. the groups that were fighting againist the holy war was the muslims and the christians.

HELLENISTIC CULTURE
Hellenistic culture is the spread of culture of the land conquered by phillip 2 and alexander the great. They are from macedonia, a land north of ancient greece. The landstate conquered goes all the way up from india to egypt. Most of it was done by alexander the great because phillip 2 was stabed by his own body guard . The combination of all the conquered lands form a new culture called hellenistic culture.

peloponnesian war
when the peloponnesian war between the two city-states began , athens had the stronger navy. sparta had the stronger navy.sparta had the stronger army,and its location inland meant that it could not easily be attacked by sea .pericles strategy was to avoid land battles with the spartan army and wait for an opportunity to strike sparta and its allies from the sea.spartans marched into the athenian territory and won .
There were may philosophers in ancient greece 3 of the most famous were socrates, plato and aristotle. Socrates encourage his students to examine their beliefs. plato was a wrestler and a poet before he became a philosopher. plato once said philosophers begins in wonder and aristotle, the son of a physician and one of platos brightest students. aristotle questioned the nature of the world and human belief.

Golden age
A golden age is a time of peace and prosperity.
The golden age in ancient Greece was from 477-431 b.c
The ruler during this time in Greece was pericles
Pericles had three specific policies he wanted to strengthen democracy. For this he pays government workers so everyone would serve and introduced direct democracy.
His second policy was to strengthen Athenian empire they had the strongest navy and gained access to other waterways.
His final policy was to glorify Athens the golden age allowed people to create new art and architecture the most famous one being the partheon and a lot of classical art.
